My great grand father, Matthew Broomfield, was born in Burley in 1848. His mother was Charlotte Broomfield who I think was born around 1825, she was not married at the time of Matthews birth. By 1851 Matthew was living with his uncle James Bromfield( different spelling according to census) who lived in Burley was a forest Labourer and was aged 52. As far as I can make out Charlotte had moved to the Isle of Wight as a servant. Does anyone know any thing about John or Charlotte and who their parents were? Many thanks Lesley Denney

Can anyone help Lesley find out more about The Bromfield (or Broomfield) family from Burley?
