I remember seeing a lone German bomber approaching from south to north around noon. He veered toward Reading and the bombs hit the peoples pantry. He returned right over me, very low, so low I could see crew members looking out. Scary at the time and I will never forget that moment in time.

Thanks for sharing this WW2 experience with us all today Ron. I can understand why it has stayed in your memory until today.
This is the sort of story and experience we need to share with each other so that a different perspective can be put on the beautiful New Forest and we can all remember what WW2 was really like, for those who were part of it at the time.
